Compassion in World Farming Brussels (CIWF Brussels) is the EU office of Compassion in World Farming International, an organization that works to end all factory farming practices, promote sustainable food systems and reduction in production and consumption of animal products.

In Europe, we have networks of supporters and offices in France, Poland, Italy and the Netherlands, as well as a presence in Spain and the Czech Republic.

Through its advocacy work, the organization seeks to achieve significant improvements in farm animal welfare by strengthening legislation and enforcement, with a particular focus on Europe.

Over the years, the work of the organization has contributed to the EU recognition of animals as sentient beings, along with key legislation regarding the banning of cruel factory farming practices, such as the barren battery cages for egg-laying hens, veal crates and sow stalls in the EU, as well as Directives and Regulations on farm animal welfare.
