FLAG Tramuntana was established on 14 December 2016 in Tramuntana under the CLLD approach. We are based in Karlobag, Croatia. Fisheries local action groups / FLAGs are partnership of representatives of the public, economic and civil sectors of a particular fisheries and aquaculture area and have the legal form of an association. The LAGUR Tramuntana area is a fishing area comprising five local government units (LGUs): the towns of Novalja, Rab and Senj and the municipalities of Karlobag and Lopar.
The main goal of FLAG Tramuntana is to promote sustainable development of the fisheries and aquaculture sector and coastal communities through an integrated local development strategy. The organisation aims to strengthen the economic and social resilience of the area by supporting diversification of fisheries-dependent activities, encouraging innovation and environmental sustainability, fostering local partnerships, and enhancing the quality of life in coastal and island communities.
