Gavi’s mission is: “Saving children’s lives and protecting people’s health by increasing equitable use of vaccines in lower-income countries."

The Gavi Alliance promotes health by: (i) providing vaccines and the means to deliver such vaccines to people in the poorest countries; (ii) facilitating the research and development of vaccines of primary interest to the developing world; and (iii) providing support in connection with achieving the foregoing purposes by helping to strengthen health care systems and civil societies supporting such purposes in the developing world.

Gavi co-led COVAX, the vaccines pillar of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator.
