The main aim of the association is to raise awareness among the public about the importance of industrial heritage and to promote public access to such industrial heritage. This can be done through the preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of machinery, buildings and other objects of industrial heritage importance, in-situ wherever possible.

MIHA’s ultimate aim is to create a museum, not only to show the items that several individuals have donated to the Association, and those items that have been acquired through the Association’s own funds, but also to serve as a hub to create a trail to other industrial sites around Malta and Gozo.
