Established in 2013, the Swiss Finance Council engages in dialogue around policy developments in finance at a European and international level. We articulate and advocate the interests of internationally active Swiss financial institutions towards the EU institutions and support an integrated Single Market that can contribute to the creation of a strong, open and globally competitive European financial sector. We act as a platform to share experience, expertise and knowledge through a permanent representative office in Brussels.
The Swiss Finance Council focuses on issues of relevance to international financial institutions that are high on the EU’s policy agenda. These include, amongst others, Banking and Prudential Regulation, Banking Union, Capital Markets Union (in particular Market Access), Sustainable and Digital Finance, Data Protection, Cybersecurity, Taxation, and Anti-Money Laundering.
